The Great Bay Stewards are pleased to announce the continuation of the graduate student research grant program in 2008. We are currently accepting grant applications by graduate students for amounts up to $1000. Funding requests must be specifically related to the Great Bay Stewards mission statement. Graduate students must be conducting research in or directly around Great Bay for the grant application to be considered. Proposals are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2008. Proposals can be emailed directly to Jenn Greene. Any questions about the grant application can also be directed to that email address.
The following is an overview of the grant requirements. Applicants must submit the following information, along with the cover sheet, to be fully considered for this grant. See PDF for full details.
1. Research Project Description: Include project background and a statement of research project objectives. Provide a description of how the funds will be used to support your research project.
2. Mission Statement Applicability: Describe how the research project applies to the mission of the Great Bay Stewards.
3. Budget: Provide an itemized, detailed budget for the money requested.
4. Curriculum vitae of graduate student
Note: Please limit research project description and mission statement applicability to two (2) typewritten pages.
The following are eligible for support: Research supplies related to project Research support (e.g. vehicle use, boat rental, equipment rentals)
The following are not generally eligible for support: Travel expenses not directly related to research (e.g. professional meetings, etc.) Graduate student stipends Religious/sectarian programs Previous expenses Deficit reduction
