The 2009 "Art Of Great Bay & The Seacoast" show and sale on November 6-8 was a great success! 56 talented artists brought works to display. as the Gregg Center was magically converted to a colorful and vibrant art gallery. The media ranged from paintings and photography to quilts, sculpture in a variety of materials, jewelery, pottery, crocheting and fine silk screening. Over 200 guests attended the gala Artists' Reception on Friday, November 6. The buzz and excitement over the quality and variety of the artwork on display permeated the space and transformed the evening. The artists were in attendance and were quite pleased to discuss their work. Everybody enjoyed a selection of fine wine and appealing appetizers while they toured the gallery. The total attendance for the 3-day show topped 500 people.

46 of the artworks on display were sold. (A portion of the sale price of each piece goes to the Great Bay Stewards.) Many of the participating artists also contributed works to the raffle, which brought in over $500. The silent auction yielded an additional $450. The proceeds from the art show and sale that will benefit the Great Bay Stewards, while not yet finalized, appears to have topped the total from 2008.

We all thank Nancy Cauvet and the entire Art Of Great Bay committee for all their great work, and congratulate them on another successful fund-raiser for the Great Bay Stewards!
